Circuit is a series system. And its reliability depends on the reliability of each of its components. That is the product of the intra-system components. Therefore, more components imply less reliability. These components are vulnerable to the surroundings, for example, dust particles, corrosive gas, temperature and humidity, etc., which will lead to contact fault. So environment is an inevitable factor that must be taken into account.Dust pollution is one of the major reasons that caused the electromechanical components failure, while entrance of dust particles is the premise for it. Therefore, it is of great significance to study the influence of dust entrance on the reliability of appliances.Dust entrance can be affected by various factors such as wind speed, sizes of dust particles, vibration, electromagnetic field, temperature, and etc. But as for appliances with small interfaces, the main factors that affect dust entrance include such dynamic environments as the structure of interfaces, vibration, and etc. The complexity of interface structures is the major factor that affects the amounts of dust particles around the interfaces. The more complex the interface structures are, the weaker the blocking force is. Therefore more dust particles will gather around it, and vise versa. It was the dynamic environments such as vibration that caused the access of the assembled dust particles around the interfaces. This paper is mainly devoted on the relationship between vibration and the amounts of dust particles inside appliances with small interfaces. A vibration table was designed to evaluate the influence of dust particles on electrical contact reliability. Firstly, the vibration model of dust entrance is devised. Then the amounts of dust particles inside the small-interface appliances are got through vibration experiments. Afterwards the results are analyzed through nonlinear regression in order to get the function between the amount of dust particles and time of vibration and vibration frequency. Diffusion coefficient of dust particles inside the appliances is analyzed, and also the multi-axis motion integrated vibration table was designed.
