The park is an important part of urban green space which plays a very important role in the improvement of the urban living environment and the ecological balance. It provides a good environment for the public tours and entertainment. In recent years, with the development of Guangzhou urban construction, the people in Guangzhou are eager to have more beautiful Guangzhou parks with a higher environmental quality. According to the requirements of the Municipal Gardens Bureau of Guangzhou, all the parks in Guangzhou begun to improve and enhance the ecological construction Since 2002 .The ecological construction is the most important content of these activities, which can guideline the ecological construction of the parks. According to the park's ecological characteristics, the introduction of ecological theory as a guide is necessary. Combing with my practical working experience, this thesis is to explore the application of the landscape ecology in the ecological construction of the parks in Guangzhou.Chapter One mainly introduces the background, some related definitions, the research purpose, the significance, the status and the methods and the frameworks of this study. Chapter Two is the core issues of this study. Based on an overview of the ecological construction planning of the parks in Guangzhou, the author proposed that the landscape ecology theory e should be used as a guideline in the ecological construction planning of the parks. Based on this argument, this thesis tries to solve the following problems: how can we apply the landscape ecology into the ecological construction practice, from which aspects the landscape ecology can combine the ecological construction planning of the parks.Chapter Three and Chapter Four constitute the theatrical basis of this study. They mainly introduce the background and the formation of the landscape ecology, the research object, its relationship with other disciplines, the principles, and the significance of applying the theory into the ecological constructions in the parks. Thereafter, four related ecological theories about the ecological construction planning are analyzed and discussed in detail: the plant community theory, the biological diversity theory, the sustainable development of resources theory, theory of the optimization of the whole system functions. .In Chapter Five and Chapter Six, there are some analyses of some practical programs. It try to analyze the practical programs of constructing and improving the ecology in Guangzhou Uprising Martyrs Mausoleum, Yuexiu Park, Huanghuagang Park, Liuhua Lake Park. It sums up the common characteristics of these programs and the achievements of the application of the landscape ecology. In the final part of this thesis, a conclusion is drawn up that the ecological construction planning of the parks need to be carried out with the help of landscape ecology theory. Integrating the theory of landscape ecology into the programs is mainly embodied in plant community ecology theory, theory of biological diversity, theory of resource sustainable development, optimization theory of functions in the whole system. In the process of planning, it is necessary to combine the landscape ecology theory and the art of ecological science. The rational distribution and comprehensive planning are needed. A stable plant community park should be built in this plan, and it will be necessary to increase biological diversity and promote the circulation and regeneration, to maintain the principles of sustainable development of natural resources. Besides, some possible planning strategies should be provided. This thesis also pointed out the limitations of this study and provided some references for the future research areas.
