The best stage of vehicle development for NVH performance improving is engineering design stage. However, because there is not physical sample car in this stage, the research of NVH is usually limited in frequency response analyses. Therefore, it is necessary to find out an effective technique to predict the NVH performance of vehicle in a given condition. The application of this NVH technique can shorten the design cycle and reduce costs greatly, because you can design the NVH performance of vehicle independent of physical sample cars.At present, the manufacturers usually choose a reference sample car for the development of their product. Not only the chassis structure but also the performance of their product is close to the reference sample car very much. According to the domestic industry situation, this study taking a SUV for example, searches a method for designing and evaluating NVH performance by using the reference sample car. This method can predict the NVH performance before the presence of physical sample car in the early stage of vehicle development.The innovative points of this study include:(1) Proposing a method to predict and evaluate the NVH performance of a car by using the reference sample car.(2) According to the difficulty of seat modeling, proposing a technology to compute the vibration of the seat by using both of the vibration transfer efficiency of seat and the simulation results of the floor below the seat.(3) Searching a method to find out the weak point of the car in NVH performance by using the results of the car-body structure frequency response analysis.
