There are several advantages in bonding carbon fiber sheets adhesively on deteriorated steel members than the traditional repair methods, such as, no stress concentrations, no residual stress, easy to construct, low maintenance cost, and so on. The adhesive interface performance between steel plate and CFRP must be fine in order that the bond strength enhancement can have widespread engineering application. Based on this purpose, the adhesive interface performance between steel plate and CFRP has been studied in this paper, and also the Static Mechanical Properties of the Adhesive Interface of CFRP- Steel Structure. The main conclusions are the following:1. Based on many specimens results of the vertical tension bond test of steel plate and CFRP, the failure process and characteristics of bond test are described, and characteristic of the stress distribution is discussed.2. The computation formulation of the adhesive interface shear stress of CFRP and steel is educed by theory deduction, also, the results agree well with that of tests so the practicability and credibility of the formulation is verified.3. Through the finite element analysis program ANSYS, the testing process and the stress state of steel reinforced by CFRP plates are simulated. The interface shear stress distribution and variation are studied mainly. The finite element calculation results further showed that, the computation formulation of the adhesive interface shear stress of CFRP and steel, proposed by this paper, is effective.
