First, this paper stated the background of the growth of evaporative cooling technique, performance form and development status entirely, then the general arrangement of the laboratory furniture, structure, data measuring and core body heat exchanger were detailed introduced. Experimental study was carried out on two heat exchangers when they worked as air-air heat exchanger and indirect evaporative cooler, mainly focus on the characteristics of heat exchanging and resistance. On that basis, the characteristic of heat exchanging was compared and analysis between two kinds heat exchanger.Then, what followed is a 3-d numerical calculation on the basis of appropriate assumptions. Firstly, the methods of numerical calculation and space discrete were introduced, interpreted the coupled relationship between speed and pressure and the discrete form of convective terms. Moreover, several turbulence models were present. The numerical results and experimental data were compared from the resistance properties and heat transfer characteristics, then obtained better turbulence model according to the results of comparison.According to the optimalizing turbulence model, further study was carried out on the internal heat flow mechanism of plain heat exchanger, Some suggestions for improving heat exchanger was put forward.
