Axial flow pump with flow rate, head low, which is widely used for agricultural irrigation and urban water supply. Improving the efficiency of axial flow pump has important significance to the national economic development and energy conservation. Experimental study and numerical simulation is an effective means on studying flow in axial flow pump, which can be complementary with each other in the authenticity and the economy. But most of the current study focused on verifying the authenticity of numerical simulation though contrasting with experimental research. The work In the aspect of the complementary amendments with each other does less.Based on the above considerations, a axial flow pump test design is proposed1. A brief description of the axial-flow pump development in internal and overseas. Proposals the program of the design of hydraulic machinery test platform based on PIV and CFD.2. The UG software was applied to design the axial-flow pump. The hydraulics professional software Gambit was used to carry on generating unstructured grid of the interior fields.3. Based on Reynolds Average N-S (RANS) equations and k-εtwo-equation turbulent mode, finite volume method was used to discrete N-S equations. The interior field of axial-flow pump was calculated.4. The experiment data was analyzed to compare with the results of numerical. It can guide the next step of the experience based on CFD and PIV. As the experimental funding constraints, this paper proposed design only, and no specific laboratory testing, research work will be completed later.
