The sea (fresh) water ball piston hydraulic pump(ball piston pump for short) is a radial direction pump which is using the conglobation as the piston.It is a special volume pump which can realize continuous suction and delivery water and can efficiently transform the mechanical energy coming from the engine into hydraulic energy.The ball piston pump has radial dimensions in axial piston pump and axial dimensions in radial piston pump.The advantages of the ball piston pump are small size,compact structure,high reliability,high power density,easy to realize the delivery volume changes,easy to realize high delivery volume,high speed and high temperatures,suitable for high power arid tough working conditions.It is a kind of high-tech product which has simple structure, high technical content and strict manufacturing technology level.The basically contents of this paper has three aspects:The first is to analyze the motion characteristics of the ball piston pump in depth. We get the displacement and pressure angle parameter equations of ball piston to cylinder bore through deriving the kinematic parameter equations of elliptical orbit double function ball piston hydraulic pump's ball piston.According to the emulations,we point out the very important kinematic parameters such as the ball piston's maximum velocity maximum pressure angle relative to the cylinder bore and so on. It provides the kinematic foundation for the optimization design of ball piston pump.The second is to analyze the flow pulsating movement of the ball piston pump,the best number of the ball piston is got through deriving the instantaneous flow rate and the instantaneous rate of flow pulsating movement.The third is to analyze the dynamic behaviors of the ball piston pump in depth.And then we get the force equations of elliptic orbit and cylinder to ball piston in two processes of suction and drainage gained by the force analysis of elliptical orbit double function ball piston hydraulic pump's ball pistonduring it's working process.emulations are carried out and point out the very important dynamic parameters such as the instantaneous maximum force of elliptic orbit and cylinder bore to ball piston and so on. It provides dynamic foundation for the optimization design of sea (fresh) water ball piston pump.Finally,based on the kinematics and dynamics analysis of the ball piston pump above,the prototype of pure water ball piston pump is developed.The results of prototype testing shows us the validity and feasibility of optimization design of ball piston pump based on the kinematics and dynamics theories.It is an beneficial attempt for further exploiting high performance sea (fresh) water ball piston pump which provides the theory foundation for its optimization design.
