Between the two mutual meshing tooth profile modification of gear in all kinds that are now prevalently researched and applied,except the node,there always exists relative sliding in the process of transmission,which probably causes the wear, agglutination and plastic deformation of tooth surfaces , and decreases the transmission efficiency while adds to the energy consumption and diminishes the life of gear,accompanied by the coming into being of the vibration and noise.In order to reduce the negative impacts aroused by the relative sliding between the gear tooth surfaces in the course of transmission,this project will be devoted to the study of a new type of gear ----- Pure Rolling Contact Gear.The gears merely contact at the nodes during the meshing process and there's no relative sliding between the two mutual meshing tooth profile modification,avoiding all sorts of side effects as a result of relative sliding between the tooth surfaces of the present common gears and can be applied to many special fields that can't utilize the lubricant such as food processing and aerospace. The prospect will be booming.This subject gives detailed information about the superiority and study of history of the pure rolling contact gear and systematically analyses the necessary conditions of realizing the pure rolling meshing of gears,the basic principles of designing the tooth profile modification as well as the type of gears that will achieve pure rolling meshing. Based on the truth that the basic tooth profile modification is arc and on condition that the gears merely mesh at the node,the pure rolling contact gears are designed and the thinking of study of the arc gear meshing theory has been learned and researched. Besides,the tooth surface equation of pure rolling contact gears has been derived from the application of the space coordinates transform method. In the meantime,the meshing characteristics of the pure rolling contact gears have also been further studied. In addition,this article has derived the tooth surface equation of pure rolling contact gears expressed in cylindrical coordinates. Finally,the measuring method of parameters of pure rolling contact gears such as the height,thickness,depth of gear strings and dedendum circle has been derived with the application of Newton iteration method. Meanwhile,specific measurement has been carried out according to the ever-studied part of data such as the tooth number, node number and center distance of the pure rolling gears by the tutor,so as to achieve the processing data of the gear.The study of this article lays the theoretical foundation for the processing of pure rolling contact gears and also provides a worthwhile reference for the further research.
