With the development of nuclear power industry and the wide application of nuclear technologic, radioactive pollution and potential danger of nuclear accidents will increase, nuclear safety issues has been the subject of much concern. To effectively prevent the occurrence of nuclear accidents, as well as to reduce the nuclear accident on social stability and public life and property safety hazards, it is particularly important to research new and efficient methods for monitoring nuclear radiation and nuclear radiation monitoring systems.The environment supervisor system for the nuclear radiation is a multi-functional automatic monitoring system for the regional environmental monitoring. It is mainly used for monitoring environment by nuclear-related enterprises (such as uranium mining companies and nuclear power plants, etc.) as well as local environmental protection departments. Also, it can provide reliable source of data for the relevant departments to get the radiation situation in time.In this paper, the regionalγenvironmental monitoring system is designed and realized based on the analysis of status of the nuclear emergency monitoring systems, and the status of environmental radiation monitoring products of Beijing Nuclear Instrument Factory. The system is composed of three subsystems: on-site data acquisition systems, data transmission system and data processing system in the monitoring center. Field data acquisition system is installed in the measurement of the scene, based on C8051F020 MCU as the core composition; its main function is to complete the real-time acquisition of the on-siteγradiation dose rate and meteorological parameters. The data is packaged and transmitted to the center through the data transmission system. The data processing system in the monitoring center is located at the computer center of the enterprise or management departments. The task is to complete real-time communication with the on-site data acquisition systems, database storage, and data analysis and processing. Data transmission system is based on the GSM mobile communications networks and Ethernet composition, which ensure the on-site data acquisition system and the monitoring center have a real time and reliable data communication.Finally, the system was tested. Test results show that the on-site data acquisition system could be monitored by the processing system in the monitoring center by remote way. On-site data acquisition system can gather data with the parameters which were set up by the monitoring center. Collected data can be transmitted to the monitoring center through the data transmission by means of wiring or wireless. All these results met the goal of remote monitoring. Also the real-time performance of the regional radiation monitoring was improved. In addition, the experimental data show that the data can be transmitted correctly by the transmission system。It has proved the feasibility of this design.
