With the development of economy, the cities are being larger and larger, demanding more and more water. During this process, the pollutants from the industrialization and modernization of the city have brought more and more negative effects to rain and groundwater. Moreover, the transpiration of the ground surface is evident because of the large hardened area. So, to develop some material what can purify and reserve water as well as be available for green plant to grow in is necessary. At the same time, part of the rain water can meet the standard of drinking water after being purified, and ease the contradiction between the shortage of fresh water and city's development.The paper aimed at studying the function of material, including rain water collecting material, reserve material and purify material. Purify material should be able to penetrate the water rapidly and purify it, removing COD,BOD,SS,total phosphate,total nitrate and heavy metal ions. Reserve material should have a good ability to adsorb and reserve water and purify it. The two kinds of materials can be compounded to be a new kind of material with skeleton material, which can be made into bricks or curly material.With good mechanic and dilution performance and the preservation ability, the laminated phenolic foam plastic is reasonable to be a purify material. Through the selection and optimization of bubble agent, stabilizing agent, wetting agent, catalyst, effervescene temperature, the effervescene and mechanic property can be promoted. Add prior polymer to promote the toughness of laminated phenolic foam plastic so as to meet the request of use. Through the test of apparent surface density and microscope detect, the experiment's result and material's character can be expressed. The laminated phenolic material added with environmental mineral material has the ability to remove rain water's turbidity,COD,BOD and NH3-N. During the experiment, the ability of the plant to root in the laminated phenolic foam was tested. The environmental mineral material's effects on rain water are mainly absorption,dissolve and precipitate,surface oxidization and reducing action.Adsorbing polymer, as a kind of ecological reserving material, has the ability to adsorb and deserve water, to stimulate plant's growth, to ease city tropical island effect. Add several kinds of mineral to adsorbing polymer reactive system, and the reserving material will have the capacity to purify the water. Study on the multiplying power,adsorbing rate,reserving capacity,re-adsorbing capacity of the reserving material, and optimize the product's formulation and performance. The process of reserving material's synthesis are as follows:neutralize the acrylic with NaOH, then add acrylamide to make water solution, add some environmental mineral material and stir, then add evocating agent potassium peroxydisulfate and cross linker MBAM, then stir the reactive system and keep it at 67。C for four hours. When the compound reaction end, cut the polymerand make it into particulate, dry it at 70。C. The experiment tested different environmental mineral materials'effects to reserving material's function, as well as the effect to plant's growth state of different synthesis reserving material.Use phenolic resin with the effect of surface active agent, vesicant,firming agent, through chemical or physical bubble, a kind of porous phenolic foam plastic can be made. It has characters such as rapid penetration, environmental, cheap, easy to synthesis, available for plant's growth. In the past most of the porous phenolic foam plastic was made with Freon as vesicant. But freon can be harmful to human and environment, in the experiment, use sherwood oil instead of Freon and use AES,tween-80 as surface active agent to synthesis adsorbing phenolic foam plastic. In order to promote the material's pressure strength and impact strength, some research about the modification of the phenolic foam material was conducted to improve its toughness.The study's result shows that:the purify material can remove the turbidity and BOD 5 by 63 percent respectively. The cultivate experiment shows that plant can root in the purify material and grows well. The performance of reserving material is relative with the environmental mineral material's kind,volume. Tested several environmental mineral materials such as tourmaline,diatomite,bentonite,nano-clay,turres, with 15 percent nano-clay, the reserving material has the best performance. The adsorbing polymer has good drought resistance added with turres and tourmaline. With bentonite, the adsorbing polymer has the best effect to plant's growth.
