As an effective research method of geological structure, the geological structure simulating experiment plays an important role in researching the process and forming mechanism of tectonic deformation. On the basis of the insufficient of the similar apparatus in home and abroad, according to geological phenomena simulation requirements, conforming to the similarity principle, this paper was aimed at researching a geological experiment apparatus with excellent functions which could meet the needs of the modern geological study.The geological structure simulating experiment is based on the geology tectonics, aims at researching the tectonic deformation process and looking for the tectonic deformation mechanism. So this paper firstly analyzed the main geological structure phenomenon and origin, learnt the loading device basic characteristics. Then this paper designed the mechanical systems of the experimental apparatus with the modular thought.For the typical geological structure of the deformation characteristics, by using of the similarity theory, this paper established the similar equation of the simulating experiment. By using dimensional analysis method to derive the similar experimental conditions, this paper got the basic parameters of the experimental model.Based on the results of the mechanical system module division, this paper designed the mechanical structure in using of the modern machine design method. Because the experimental apparatus main equipment cooperates closely with the auxiliary equipment, this paper designed them together. The main equipment was designed to a round shape, which can apply load in any direction. At the same time, this paper designed the tilt table test, which can support the main equipment. In order to achieve a two-way swing, the experimental sandbox end plate was designed to a scalable structure. In order to simulate different geological phenomena, this paper designed the diaper module, arch-rise module and slip module. The diaper modular has multiple controllable eruption points, which can meet the different geological injection phenomenon. The arch-rise modular has the ball screws, which can change the arch rise power horizontal direction. The arch-rise modular was designed as a set of three-power head structure, which can realize arch rise phenomenon different shapes in the vertical direction. The slip modular has a strike-slip belt, which contained an automatic tensioning device and hydraulic lifting device, which can simulate the movement of geological phenomena in the dive.Finally, this paper analyzed the major parts the strength by using the ANAYS tools to ensure the safety of experimental apparatus.
