Dynamic consolidation method (strong temp method) is a foundation treatment method which has been proved by engineering practice as a fast,economic and effective tool.The method has also been increasingly widely used in various types of soft foundation reinforcement.However ,there is dispute on its use in saturated clay foundation.Elastic clay(which is difficult to deal with)will be easily formed when using traditional dynamic consolidation method.In resent years , the idea of drainage consolidation method is introduced to dynamic consolidation method, forming a relatively new method. More and more theoretical research and engineering practice shows that this is an effective method of saturated soft clay foundation treatment, and its essence is the driving force drainage reinforcement.But now the practice of this method is higher than theoretical,and this method does not provide computational and design formula,which based on matured and solid theory.The essential mechanism of this method and its design theory are not clear yet.This limited the population and application.Based on previous research and practice,combining with quantitative test data obtained from the engineering practice of dynamic consolidation,this paper analyzed the physical and mechanical properties before and after applied dynamic consolidation,the deformation during dynamic consolidation and so on. The results show that saturated soft clay foundation with dynamic consolidation is feasible. Meanwhile,this paper explored in study the rules of growth and dissipation about the pore water pressure in the course of dynamic consolidation by drainage,the tamping settlement during dynamic consolidation,and the essential mechanism of dynamic consolidation by drainage.This study confirmed that the measurements and monitors for pore water pressure in a practice engineering is propitions to coach construction,and brings forward how to use the metrical date to calculate the experiential coefficient then forecast the tamping settlement.Finally, the reinforcement mechanism of the method and construction process was discussed and draw some conclusions to guide the engineering practice.
