With the shortage of conventional energy, the increasingly serious of environmental pollution and the global warming, people have realized the importance of clean energy. The global scientists are paying more attention to distributed generation (DG) which can both improve traditional energy efficiency and take full advantage of renewable energy sources. How to get DG into the distribution network is a great challenge for the development of power system. The distribution network reliability analysis considering the distribution generations are researched in this paper. There are three types of DG interconnection:DG as standby power, distribution network as standby power and DG paralleling in distribution network. It discusses DG access modes for different load types. And then the dividing model for the islanded distribution network is proposed based on both the maximum equivalent load and the maximum customers in the islands. This model could improve reliability further compared with the dividing model based on the maximum equivalent load. DG could be divided into three models:substation, power of a certain rated capacity and random power. It studies the impacts for distribution network reliability indexes of different DG models accessing into the distribution network. And then it draws a conclusion that it has no impacts on the reliability of load points outside the islands and the reliability of the load points in the islands can be improved.
