With large amount of calculation, the existing grounding grid corrosion diagnosis algorithms need rather long time and are inconvenient in the practice. To solve above problem, a Local Area Network (LAN) based approach is put forward, which convert the traditional algorithms into some distributed processes. To improve the speed of testability analysis, a distributed process of testability analysis based on Monte Carlo theory is put forward. The master module sends the samples needed to be calculated to the slave module. The slave-modules calculate the samples at the same time and send the results back to the master module. The final results will be figured out by the master module after all the results being gathered. The application software is developed on the platform of VC and MATLAB.In order to increase the speed of uncertain branches evaluation, a distributed process of uncertain branches evaluation based on a dichotomy method is put forward. The master module sends the additional restrict conditions of the uncertain branches to the slave-modules. The slave-modules calculate according to the additional restrict conditions at the same time and send the results back to the master module. The maximum and minimum possible resistances of the uncertain branch will be figured out by the master module after all the results being gathered under the condition of meets the requirement of the convergent precision. The application software is developed on the platform of VC and MATLAB.To improve the speed of monitoring line positions optimization, a distributed process based on genetic algorithm is put forward. The master module sends the individuals to the slave-module. The slave-modules calculate the individuals at the same time and send the adaptability functions back to the master module. The monitoring line positions optimization will be figured out by the master module after all the results being gathered under the condition of attaining the prescriptive iterative times. The application software is developed on the platform of VC and MATLAB.The experimental grounding grids are used as examples to test the proposed distributed approaches. The test is based on a LAN with five computers and compared with the existing methods, the results of which show that the proposed methods are feasible and can remarkably reduce the calculating time.
