Melon variety named ‘Jinfei’ was taken for tested materials, borax adopting the processing mode of seed soaking and spraying on the leaf in 2015. The research was seted four Boron concentration of seed levels: B1(10mg·L-1), B2(50mg·L-1), B3(250mg·L-1), B4(1250 mg·L-1), water as CK and four Boron nutrition spraying on the leaf levels: T1(2g·L-1)、T2(4g·L-1)、T3(8g·L-1)、T4(16g·L-1), water as CK. Through the determination of material and its related enzyme activity and melon sugar quality related indexes, study of boron nutrition in different growth period of the physiological effects of melon, clear boron nutrition regulation of carbohydrate metabolism melon different growth period and quality form characteristics, for melon sugar metabolism mechanism and provides the theory basis for quality control, provide technical support for further guidance melon production practice. The results showed that :1. In seedling stage, the melon leaf chlorophyll content showed a trend of increasing and reducing sugar content in leaf and root, sucrose content, soluble sugar content, glucose, fructose content is also gradually rising trend. Borax seed handling can improve the melon seedling leaves chlorophyll content, reducing sugar content, sugar content, soluble sugar content, glucose and fructose content, improve the melon root reducing sugar content, sugar content, soluble sugar content, glucose and fructose content, improve the seedlings sugar metabolism. Borax seed soaking concentration reaches 1250 mg·L-1, effect has dropped significantly.2. In the runner development period, melon leaf chlorophyll content, reducing sugar content, sucrose content, soluble sugar content, glucose and fructose content are on the rise. Appropriate concentration of borax spraying T3(8 g·L), improve the melon leaf chlorophyll content, reducing sugar content, sugar content, soluble sugar content, glucose and fructose content such as carbohydrate metabolism level. Concentration of borax in 16g·L-1, carbohydrate metabolism level significantly decreased.3. In the fruiting period, muskmelon leaf in contents of glucose, fructose, sucrose invertase activity(SI) has been on the rise. Melon leaf chlorophyll content, reducing sugar content, sucrose content, soluble sugar content, leaf in the activity of sucrose synthase(SS) and sucrose phosphate synthase(SPS) activity after rising downward trend. Borax spraying on the leaf, can significantly improve the melon leaf chlorophyll content, reducing sugar content, sugar content, soluble sugar content, soluble sugars content such as glucose and fructose content, enhance the activity of sucrose synthase(SS) and sucrose phosphate synthase(SPS) activity and sucrose invertase(SI) and related enzyme activity. Concentration of borax is16g·L-1, to the level of sugar metabolism and related enzyme activity were significantly decreased.4. In the fruiting period, soluble sugar content, sugar content of muskmelon fruit, contents of glucose and fructose, sucrose synthase(SS) and sucrose phosphate synthase(SPS) activity is on the rise, promoted the melon fruit soluble solids, soluble sugar, VC content of nutritional quality formation, increased single fruit weight and yield of melon. Melon fruit at the early stage of the test in the reducing sugar content, total acid content(SI), sucrose invertase activity was gradually rising trend, the test late reducing sugar content, total acid content of fruits of muskmelon(SI), sucrose invertase activity showed a trend of gradual decline. Borax spraying on the leaf, can significantly improve the reducing sugar content, sugar content of fruits of muskmelon, contents of soluble sugar, glucose and fructose content, enhance the fruit in the activity of sucrose synthase(SS) and sucrose phosphate synthase(SPS) activity and sucrose invertase activity(SI), improving the quality of melon fruit. Concentration of borax is 8g·L-1, the strongest effect, when the concentration is 16g·L-1, schedule for melon fruit sugar metabolism and quality effect decreased obviously.Choose the suitable concentration of borax seed soaking test(250mg·L-1) and borax spraying concentration(8g·L-1), which can effectively improve the quality of the melon.
