Sugar beet hybrid M14 (2n= 18+1= 19) is an alien monosomic addition line of B. corolliflora in B. vulgaris. It is of antivirus characteristic. In our previous work of lab, two full-length cDNAs (tf75-1f and taa2-1f) were isolated。In this work, agrobacterium-mediated genetic transformation was carried out in tobacco and whole transgenic plants were obtained. Then, transgenic tobaccos, which contain tf75-If and taa2-1f genes, respectively, were tested for their anti-insect or anti-virus resistance. Our results showed that tp5-1f-transformed plants obviously inhibited the proliferation of insect population and taa2-1f-transformed plants are resistant for the diffusion of potato virus Y (PVY).
