Perennial upland weed qisetum aivense is veiy difficult to control. These researches including investigating in field, examining with microscope, cultivating Eqisetwn arvense rhizome, and field-test were carried out from 1997 to 1999. Txy to solve these problems, such as: The relation among density of Eqsetwn arvense, soil type, and tilling. How to recognize the elder of perennial rhizome, and can the spring shoot of Eqisetum arvense have branches. The relation among reproduction, numbers of nodal, and cultivating temperature. Morphological characters and anatomical structure of Eqisetum aense. Some herbicides (Pursuit, Resource, Blazer. Basagran, Galaxy, Jinpu, Onecide, Hex, Command, and so on) control Equisetum arvense in fiekl Combined herbicide (Glyphosate, 2,4-D butyl ester. 4uvant HASTEN), and rotational regression design was adopted to test the control efficacy of Eqisetum arvense The results shod that: The density in the neutral and slightly sour soils is the largest. and Eqzsetum arvense is an oxylophyte. Can recognize the age of rhizome by its color, emergence s time, and length of internode. The spring shoot of Eqisetwn arvense can have branches. Rhizome germinating energy increase with increasing the number of nodal and length of internode. Its gemiinative capacity is the largest at 25 . Its corrn can reproduce. The surface of Eqwsetum avense L is Iy difficult for herbicide to stick to, spread, then be absorbed, or penetrated Adjuvant can solve this problem. These herbicides?efficacy is not as good as Combined herbicide, under the conditions of this research The maximum control efficacy of combined herbicide (Glyphosate, 2,4-D butyl ester, adjuvant HASTEN) is 91 .670/o when Glyphosate is 1 500g ai/hm2, 2, 4-D butyl ester is 396g ai/hm2, and adjuvant HASTEN is 2.5%(V/V). The optimum composition are Glyphosate 1300-1400g ai/hm2, 2, 4-D butyl ester 254-398g al/bin2, and adjuvant HASTEN 1.8-2.2%.
