This thesis reports the results of two years' research on seed develop-ment, production and pest control of C. korshinskii Kom. andHedyalum laeve Min..The first part of the research has shown that the embryo growth first inseed developing period of C. korshinskii Kom., and seed abortion per-centage is 44. 58% caused by genetic factor mainly.The result of the second part is that pod number is a factor playing a keyrole in determine seed yield out of the other 6 studied agronomic charac-ters in C. korshinskii Kom. and H. laeve Min. by the correlation andpath-coefficient analysis(path-coefficient are 0. 479 and 0. 258 for C.korshinskii Kom. and H. laeve Min. respectively).The third part of the research thoroughly investigated the pests of C.korshinskii Kom. The damage percentage is 78. 4% to C. korshinskiiKom. seed. The majority are three seed infestation insects, Bruchopha-gus neocaraganae Liao, Kytorhinus immixtus Motschulsky and Lixussp., through four ways entering into the pods. The main way is that thepests oviposited in the locule, ovary wall tissue or in the campanulatecalyx tube in anthesis, then the egg grew with pod developing, finally,get into the pod.The fourth, by orthogonal contract block experiment design, the combi-nation with time of spraying, type and concentration of insecticide isrecommended for the prevention and elimination of the pests on C. Korshinskii. The crux of the matter is the time of spraving.The last, the optimal time of harvesting H. laeve Min. seed is the lastten days of August. The result of the orthogonal contract block experi-ment design in H. laeve Min. shown spraying plant growth regulaters ismore effective than spraying Rare --earth Nourishing Element on seedyield for H. laeve Min. in blooming stage. The spraying concentrationof plant growth regulaters is the most important matter for seed produc-tion of H. taeve Min..
