The author has made a comprehensive evaluauon of grain production of Zhangye City? commercial grain production base of Gansu Province, and Conducted a series of surveys of 300 households in three different zones, and some grain-processing enterprises. Economic benefits are compared single grain-processing approaches in terms of technology economy. The optimal technology combination and agricultural production distributions most suitable to local ecological conditions are advanced to serve as guide-lines for government department making agricultural sustainable development strategy in high-yield areas. The main conclusions are: 1. Seeing from the technology economic progress trends of grain production in Zhangye- City: the annual average rate of technology progress is 0.1733% in 1963-1978;from the reformation and opening ,during the period of 1980 to 1996,the annual average rate of technology progress of wheat and corn are 1.13% and 3 .4%;the respective contribution share of technology progress are 19.24% and 49.25%. 2. Seeing from the single technology input (1) irrigation benefit :a.the best irrigated quantity in economic benefit of mulching spring wheat is about 210m 3/ mu, and the common wheat is 270m3/mu. b.The best irrigated quantity in intercropping is 450m3/mu. (2) fertilizer benefit: a.the best quantity of applying nitrogenous fertilizer in the intercropping system with the compoent crops of wheat and corn is 20kg; b. When applying nitrogenous and phosphate fertilizer, the best quantity are 12kg and 10kg which make the mulching wheat has the best economic benefit; when the yield of mulching wheat per mu is 660kg,the lowest expenses of applying nitrogenous and phosphate fertilizer are 14kg and 8kg . (3)comparing mulching wheat with the wheat in the open:the output value ,the nA output value , and the profit of every work day are respectively increased by 40.83%,43.22% and 43 .22%. 3. The comprehensive technology benefit of farming modes in grain production (1).The best comprehensive economic benefit: the intercrop of corn and flax has the best comprehensive economic benefit in 12 farming modes, while orchard intercropping has the lowest benefit. (2).In state farm, production of hybr~d seeds of corn has the best comprehensive economic benefit, while that of sole-cropping of wheat is the lowest. (3)Comparing the main grain crop of Zhangye corn, with that of China ,and US in terms of cost components to lower production cost and enhance economic benefit perm and stimulate farmers to more efforts to plough grain crop. 4. Creating farmers?agricultural technology qelection behavior model by using Probit 4 statistical analysis. Studying farmers?agricultural technology and influence factors. Mainly dealing with two pairs of agricultural technologies. High-yield agricultural technology VS quality agricultural technology, labor-saving technology VS capital-saving technology. 5. Thoroughly analyzing production and management of some 梡rocessing factions and breeding farms. Analyzing and comparing different approaches of increasing grain value by deep processing, and providing practical experience for sowing, raising and processing?in agriculture. 6. The technical development trends of grain production : (1 )popularize such the mature technology system as improved variety with top quality and high production, mulching cultivation, balance fertilization, water-efficientirrigation .(2)adjust the original structure of agricultural product...
