In order to raise breeding efficiency of low potassium tolerant rice, studies on the technique of molecular breeding were carried out by transferring genes responsible for low potassium tolerant of distant plants to rice for creating low potassium tolerant rice with exogenous DNA introductionZao xian9l桳 , Jingl87, Jing85? were used as the recipients. Alternathera phi]oxeroides (Mart.)Griseb and Phytolaoca esculenta Van Houtt were used as donors . The donors?DNA were introduced into the recipients by pollen tube pathway technique , DNA penetration seeds method and injecting DNA into panicle stalkThe above methods of exogenous DNA introduction into rice were compared . The results showed that pollen tube pathway technique had more influence on setting percentage of recipients than the other methods used . Injecting exogenous DNA into spike stalk was the second and DNA penetration into seeds method was the third .The results about diffrient methods influence on variant rate of the offspring was the same as that of the influence on setting percentage of recipient.Variation in the characters of offspring introduced by the donors?DNA through pollen tube pathway technique were studied . The results showed that the variation in the characters of the offspring occurred widely .These various characters were panicle length ,total number of seeds per panicle , setting percentage and so onIn order to study the offspring抯 characters of potassium nutrition ,20 of the offspring were chosen .The offspring and their recipients were cultured in nutrient solution. Two levels of potassium supply ( K:lmg/L ,K2:4Omg/L ) were set up. Significant difference was observed among the potassium utilization efficiency in the experiment. The potassium utilization efficiency of offtpring Vl7, D?2, D? was greater than that of its recipient respectively .At the same time ,the three offsprings fresh weight ,relative dry weight of shoots and potassium27accumulation in plants were also higher than their recipients respectively .The fact meant that the genes responsible for tolerance to low potassium could be transferred and low potassium tolerante rice could be created by means of introducing total DNA of Alternatheraphiloxeroides (Mart.)Griseb and Phytolaoca esculenta Van Houtt into rice .We also could draw a conclusion that the offspring D條7,D--22,D--3 were low potassium tolerante rice.Wen jinfen (Botany)Directed by professor Xiao Langtao and Dr. Peng Keqin...
