The salinity (2,10,20,30 and 40%o)on 15 days ,(l0,20 and 30%o)on 30 and 45 days and pH (6.0, 7.0, 7.6, 8.0, 8.5) in water were conducted to study effects of some physiological index on juvenile P. chinensis. The results clearly showed that salinity and pH had obvious effect on juvenile P. chinensis. 1. The juvenile P.chinensis could suvive in salinity rang from 2-40%o.After 15 days, the content of P in muscle decreased with salinity (2-30%o).It was lowest in 3O%o salinity .when the salinity increased again it increased too;The ABC value in muscle increased with salinity (2-30%o).Then it was lower in 40%o salinity. It reached highest in 30%o salinity; The chang of Na-K/ATPase activity in gill and muscle with salinity was similar with the chang of AEC.After P. chinensis was cultured 30 and 45 days ,the chang of the content of P,AEC in muscle and Na-K/ATPase activity in gill and muscle with the salinity were similar. 2. The content of most FAA increased in salinity from 2-4O%o. The percent of EFAA in total FAA is higher than the percent of NEFAA. 3. The pH in water effected signifisantly on physiological index.of juvenile P. chinensis The tendency of chang of content of P,AEC and Na- K/ATPase activity with pH from 6.0-8.Swere similar. With pH(6.0-7.6) increasing those indexes increased and were highest in pH7.6 water. When juvenile were in pH(8-8.5),these indexes decrease. The content of most FAA,totale FAA,NEFAA and EFAA in muscle had lowest values in pH7 .6. 4. From these indexes, the salinity of 3O%o and pH7.6 in culture water were optimal for juvenile P. chinensis.
