Red pine is one of valuable arboreal species in Northeast of China. It is famous by its excellent quality. The red pine of midlife or prime of life is vulnerable by Pissodes aitinus Roelofs. This pest is harmful to the main tip of red pine,and influences the timber production rate and timber quality of red pine ,down to seed quantities of mother forests.In recent years,Pissodes aitinus Roelofs outbreaks in Linkou Forest Bureau of Heilongjiang Province has harmed mother red pine forest of large areas. The systematic and intensive grasp of the behavior and habit of Pissodes aitinus Roelofs becomes the precondition of control and one of the emphases of the research. Through the thorough and meticulous investigation and research,the life history of this pest has been found out ,its instar has been divided,and its whole stage of growth has been observed and recorded meticulously.On the basis of this research,Beta-cyfluthrin and omethoate is selected and utilized ,and the two manners,including smearing stem and spraying pesticide,is applied in order of controling this pest. This experiment has been completed by periods and regions,and has been achieved excellently.The measures of forestry construction can eradicate the harm of Pissodes nitinus Roelofs,and that parasitoid,as well as Beta-cyfluthrin,influnces pests,and is not harmed by Beta-cyfluthrin at the same time. All these above-mentioned have been narrated in detail in this dissertation.
