Aneurolepidium chinense (Trin ) Kitag is an important pasturage. The capacity to counteract salt stress is one of question that should be resolved nowdays. In the experiment ,5 different ecotype were selected to study. Several physiological ecology characters of Aneurolepidium chinense (Trin ) Kitag seedlings under sodium carbonate stress were researched Analysis and determination were carried on morphology .water metabolism , and changes of free proline ,soluble protein and chlorop>hyll of Aneurolepidium chinense (Trin ) Kitag seedlings, membrane-lipid peroxidation, changes of defense enzyme systems and ultrastructure of Aneurolepidium chinense (Trin ) Kitag seedlings were studied under sodium carbonate stress .The results were as follows:(1) Because different ecotype of Aneurolepidium chinense (Trin ) Kitag were compared with respect to their capacity to counteract sodium carbonate stress, and the resistance of Green Grasslands greygreen leaf population and wulimu grey leaf population were more strong than green grasslands grey leaf population leaf, Wulimu greygreen leaf population and AnDa greygreen leaf population . The correlation between leaf colour of Aneurolepidium chinense (Trin ) Kitag and resistance sodium carbonate are not showed(F=3.14
