In order to try to find out the ecological condition and changing law of the soil mesofauna and oribatid mites in Heze Peony Garden, the writer, for the first time, made a study of ecological quantitative in group compose, number distribution, seasonal variation, vertical migrating, diversity, similarity etc. adopting Tullgren dried funnel method during 10,200 land 9,2002.In Heze Peony Garden,Acari and Collembola are dominant groups, the former accounting for 67.96% of total individuals and the latter 13.18%. Seasonal fluctuation of the mesofauna density positively is related to soil temperature in a given range and the suitable temperature rang is from 7.86C to 21.58C,so is the soil water content to the number of soil mesofauna. The soil mesofauna tends to gather on soil surface, but the vertical migrating greatly varies in different seasons affected by climate condition, edatope, artificial factor and so on. Diversity is low, less than that of 1/2 times of the most diversity. There are significant differences among communities in different habitats by cluster analysis with both Jaccard Similarity coefficient and Percentage similarity coefficient. The quantity of dominant groups great affect the cluster results,so is all the factors which affect the group number distribution. The study shows that in Heze Peony Garden,Prostigmata (accounts for 56.61% of total Acari individuals)>Cryptostigmata (21.33%)>Mesostigtnata(l6.06%). Each suborder has intimate relation with artificial factors. The seasonal tendency for all the three suborders is basically consistent, but their specific changes have their own characteristics because of the diffrence in capability to bear the surroundings and the extention of susceptibility and the practical condition of each study site. There are 616 soil oribatida(Cryptostigmata) specimens containing 96 larvas and 520 mature oribatidas. The 520 mature oribatidas are identified to genera and found 23 genera belong to 17 families,in which Zygoribatula,is dominant genera. The soil oribatid group formation and quantity distribution are obviously different. The result by MGP analysis I indicates that soil Oribatida community in Heze Peony Garden belongs to O Pattern, but by MGP analysis II belongs to P pattern. Varities in community Pattern of different soil layer are not obvious, but notable for different seasons among different sites.Oribatid mites have high diversity index, reaching to 98.27 percent of the most diversity index. Diversity values differ from each other among different study sites. The similarities among the 3 study sites are not obvious. According to Jaccard's coefficient, moderate similarities occur between M I and MII,M I and Mill, while moderate dissimilarity is present between MII and Mill. The investigation is only the first ecological study for Heze Peony Garden in academic circles which I hope can help flowers and plants manufacture and prevent and cure plant diseases and insect pests in a given range.
