One hundred and eight weanling pigs (duroc*landrace*yorkshire) were used to study the effect of nanaometer Cu (NanoCu) and copper sulfate (CuSO4) on growth, diarrhrea incidence, digestion and mineral metabolism over the liver weight, and approach to the mechanism of the effects in pigs. The pigs were randomly allotted to four groups by weight and sex (barrow, gilt),each of which was replicated three times with nine pigs per replicate. The groups received the same basal diet (DE-3. 28 Meal/kg;CP-18.93%),supplemented with 5mg/kg Cu (CuSO4) (control group),240 mg/kg copper suflate,5mg/kg and 60mg/kg Cu (NanoCu). During the later period of feeding trial, digestion experiment was conducted by using Cr,O3 as indicator. After feeding trial, six pigs in each treatment were selected based on similar live weight and slaughtered to determine carcass characteristics,at the same time samples required were collected. The results of feeding trial showed that consumption of 5mg/kg and 60mg/kg NanoCu increased ADG by 12.92%(p<0.05) and 28.61%(p<0.01),as compared with control, respectively, and F/G ration decreased by 15.32%(p<0.05) and 21.17%(p=0.0Irrespectively. Consumption of 5mg/kg and 60mg/kg NanoCu decreased diarrhrea incidence by 52.17% (p > 0.05)and 80.87%(p<0.05). Adding 240 mg/kg copper sulfate didn't infect ADG,but maded pigs have the highest diarrhrea incidence. The analysis of intestinal microflora showed that pigs fed 60mg/kg NanoCu had an enrichment to ileum and colonic bifidobacteria by 3139.79% (p<0.02) and 301.95%(p<0.05),respectively.Digestion experiment showed that pigs fed 60mg/kg NanoCu increased the apparent digestibility of CP,EE and Ca of the diet (p<0.05).The analysis of jejunal microvillus indicated that added 240 mg/kg copper sulfate and 60mg/kg NanoCu increased microvillus height(p<0.05).The slaughter trail indicated that high copper sulfate decreased the contents of EE in longissimus by 55.63%(p<0.01) but increased the contents of CP in liver by 10.74% (p<0.05).Determination of selected organs indicated that consumption of 60mg/kg NanoCu increased spleen 32.14%(p<0.05),but decreased pancreas 14.06%(p<0.05).The results of mineral analysis indicated that high CuSO4 increased the concentration of Cu in liver, kidney, spleen and bile by 50.35%,150.89%,40.67% and 141.60%(p<0.0Irrespectively. Adding 60mg/kg NanoCu didn't have significant influnence on the concentration of Cu. Consumption of 5mg/kg and 60mg/kg NanoCu decreased the concentration of Fe in spleen by 34.71%(p<0.01) and 21.91%(p<0.01). and 240mg/kg copper sulfate decreased the concentration of Fe in spleen (p<0.05) but increased the concentration of Fe in pancreas by 273.49% (p<0.01).Serum biochemical parameters analysis indicated that supplementation with 240mg/kg copper sulfate significantly increased the activities of GPT (pO.Ol),GOT(p<0.05),the concentration of Fe in serum (p<0.01) and decreased the concentration of SUN in serum (p<0.01). Consumption of 60mg/kg NanoCu decreased SUN by 31.81%(p<0.05). but increased the concentration of Fe in serum (pO.Ol).Added high copper sulfate and NanoCu had no significantly influnence on TP,ALB,CHL,ALP,.P and FEB.The analysis of cupric enzymes activities in liver showed that high copper sulfate and5,60mg/kg NanoCu increased the activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD) by 132.92%,139.05%and285.03%(p<0.05),respectively.It was found that adding NanoCu significantly increased the level of GH in serum (p<0.05). Consumption of high copper sulfate decreased the content of T3 in serum (p<0.05),but NanoCu had no influnence on the content of T3 in serum. The concentration of T4,Corti and Insulin in serum were not influcenced. The results obtained from this research implicate that supplemental nanometer copper increased intestinal bifidobacteria and lowed diarrhea incidence, which could help pigs growth. Nanometer copper also increased the level of GH which is synthesizedand secreted by pituitary,it plays a important role in promoting growth by improving the transcription of D...
