Two experiments were conducted to determine the effect of Coated Zinc Sulfate and Copper Carbonate on Vitamin A Stability and Bioavailability for Weanling Pigs.Experiment 1 was conducted to research the effect of coated zinc sulfate and copper carbonate on vitamin A stability under 37℃. Multivariate linear regression design was adopted and there were 2 affiliated treatments (125mg/Kg zinc sulfate and copper sulfate). The experiment lasted 45days. High dose copper (200mg/Kg coated ferrous sulfate+210mg/Kgcoated zinc sulfate+250mg/Kg copper carbonate) had greatest influence on the stability of vitamin A (P < 0.01). Contribution of zinc and copper on vitamin loss reached 38.1% and 51.7%. Effect of copper on vitamin A stability was greater than zinc did.Effect of coated zinc on vitamin A stability was less than zinc sulfate (P < 0.01).Effect of copper carbonate on vitamin A stability was less than copper sulfate(P < 0.01).Experiment 2: 30 DLY weanling pigs averaged 7.5kg were randomly allocated to 3 treatments with 5 replicates to evaluate bioavailability of coated sulfate and copper carbonate. Pigs were feed dietary with sulfate, 160mg/Kg zinc from coated sulfate and 125 mg/Kg copper from copper carbonate. The experiment lasted 4 weeks.Compared to zinc sulfate, coated zinc sulfate could improve performance of weanling pigs (P > 0.05). Coated zinc had greater effect of preventing diarrhea (P < 0.05). Apparent digestive zinc of coated zinc sulfate was greater than zinc sulfate(P < 0.05).Absolute bioavailability of coated zinc sulfate and zinc sulfate was 24% and 20%. Taking zinc concentration in liver and duodenum and ALP as criterions, relative bioavailability of coated zinc sulfate was 110, 130 and 126.During period of the experiment, copper carbonate had trend to improve performance (P > 0.05).
