The traits of days to 100kg,adjusted daily gain,feeding period,daily gain at 100kg body weight,back fat thickness,back fat thickness adjusted to 100kg,lean meat percentage,and eye muscle area,collected from Hangzhou Breeding Pig Experimental Farm,Jinhua Breeding Pig Farm,Livestock Institute of Zhejiang Provincial Academy of Agricultural Science,Longyou Yorkshire Breeding Pig Farm,The Breeding Pig Quality Determination Center of Zhejiang Province,were analysed in this study. Considering the fixed effects of the above items,their fixed effect models were set up. According to the results of variance analysis,we analysed and compared the different observation levels of the fixed effects with great influence by least square mean (LSM),and gave a discussion on the problems related to breeding pig determination protocol of Zhejiang Province.The results of variance analysis of fixed effects demonstrated that in different breeds,year had significant or highly significant effects on the traits of feeding period,days to 100kg (or days to 90kg),daily gain,daily gain at 90kg body weight,back fat thickness,back fat thickness adjusted to 100kg (or to 90kg),and lean meat percentage;sex had significant or highly significant effects on the traits of back fat thickness,back fat thickness adjusted to 100kg (or to 90kg),and lean meat percentage,but had no effects on the traits of feeding period,days to 100kg (or days to 90kg),daily gain,and daily gain at 90kg body weight,and as to the trait of back fat thickness,the effects of line is not significant in Landrace,but significant in Duroc;initial weight had significant or highly significant effects on the traits of feeding period,days to 100kg,daily gain,and daily gain at 100kg body weight (or daily gain at 90kg body weight),as to the traits of fat thickness and adjusted fat thickness at 100kg,initial weight showed different effects in different testing,testing in the farms,initial weight showed highly significant effects to the two traits;the age at beginning of testing had significant effects on the traits of feeding period and days to 100kg;testing batch had significant effects on feed efficiency,feeding period and daily gain at 100kg body weight.The results based on different observation levels of main fixed effects and LSM analysis of all the traits demonstrated that great improvements in selecting different traits in these farms had been made. The traits of daily gain and days to 100kg (or day to 90kg) of Landrace,New Large White,Canadian Large White were improved significantly,and so were the traits of back fat thickness of Duroc and New Large White,lean meat percentage and eye muscle area of Duroc;the feeding period of Duroc and Large White to 100kg body weight was less than that of Landrace;as to the traits of fat thickness and adjusted fat thickness at 100kg,the Landrace was best;as to the trait of feed efficiency,Duroc and Large White were much better than Landrace;as to the traits of days to 90kg and daily gain at 90kg body weight,The Danish Landrace was better than other lines,and II line was worst;Danish line had the thinnest back fat thickness and American line had the thickest one;the feeding period of American Duroc to 100kg body weight was longest,and that of Taiwan Duroc was shortest;as to the trait of adjusted back fat thickness at 100kg,the American line and Taiwan-American line were better than Taiwan line,and Taiwan-American line had the highest lean meat percentage and eye muscle area. The initial weight should be more than or equal to 25Kg and less than 35Kg,and the age of beginning for testing should be less than 70d,if it was too early,the testing results would be incorrect,the proper age of initial testing needs to be studied further;the results tested in March were better than that in September.The phenotype analysis of four period testing demonstrated that the feeding period of Duroc to 100kg body weight was shortest and that of Landrace was longest;the daily gain and daily gain at 100kg body weight of Large White is highest,and that of...
