Verticillium dahiea wilt of tomato was one of serious diseases which happened both in field and greenhouse in many countries of the world. In recent years, this disease appeared the increasingly aggravative tendency and sharply spreading tendency in the tomato production in our country. The selection of disease-resistant varieties is more economic and effective method. In this test, pathogen of tomato Verticillium dahiea wilt was identified and physiology characteristic of pathogen was studied. The race differentiation was determined. At the same time, the study found an easy and simple resistant identification method in seedling stage and carried on resistant identification of Verticillium dahiea wilt to tomato germplasm resources that are kept by our lab. Offered the theoretical foundation for Verticillium dahiea wilt prevent and cure in protective tomato production and tomato resistant disease breeding of Verticillium dahiea wilt.The result of study indicated: the isolate that was obtained in the test was pathogen causing tomato Verticillium wilt, and it was Verticillium dahiea kleb .Biological characteristic research indicated: the culture mediums that were suitable for tomato Verticillium.dahiea were PSA culture medium, low quantity sucrose yeast culture medium potato carrot culture medium and Cai culture medium, potato carrot culture medium was most ideal for producing spore.The most suitable temperature for hypha growth was 22.5 , the optimal temperature for spore germination was 25 , optimal pH for hypha growth was 5. According to reaction of the identification hosts and stains, it can be certained that Verticillium dahliae of tomato that be isolated and used in the test was race 1.The paper screened the method of resistance identification for Verticillium dahliae of tomato in seedling stage, the best combination was immersing root with 10 spores/ml during 2 leaves stageThe result of screening resistant materials: 2 immunization varieties, 3 highly resistant varieties and 46 disease-resistant varieties.The systematical study on pathogen of tomato Verticilliu .dahliae wilt, differentiation of race and the method of resistance identification for Verticillium dahliae wilt on tomato germplasm resources, all these will lay foundation for Verticillium dahliae wilt-resisitance of tomato breeding...
