| Fangfeng, the root of Saposhnikovia divaricata (Turcz.) Schischk, belonging to the family of Umbelliferae, is the high qualified herbal drug grown in northeast part of China. It has the antipyretic, diaphoretic, analgesic, and wind or damp eliminating effects.In this paper, the RP-HPLC method for evaluating the quality of cultivated Fangfeng has been established, prim-o-glucosyl-cimifugin, 4'-o- -glucosyl-5-o-methylvisamminol, cimifugin and sec-o-glucosyl- -hamaudol were taken as the marker substance. By the method, the quality evaluation of various kinds of Fangfeng, generated from different cultivating area, collecting time and processing method, has been carried out, and as well the HPLC fingerprint analysis.As results, Fangfeng cultivated in Taikang and Baiquan county has a much better quality than the others, Taikang and Baiquan were considered as the proper areas for cultivating the herbal drug. Among the samples collected at different years and different seasons, that collected during the middle 10 days of May, grown for 3 years, has a highest content of the five marker substance, the collecting time was set on the late spring of the fourth growing year. For the processing method, drying at 45 is the best selection.In the HPLC fingerprints, 19 peaks have been identified as the generalpeaks. Among these peaks, the peak of prim-o-glucosyl-cimifugin is taken as the standard one, the relative retention time and relative peak area of the others are defined as parameters evaluating the quality and distinguishing the varieties of Fangfeng. |
