We demonstrated the effect of the gelsemium total alkaloids of on blood and immune function of three different doses (0.15mg/kg,0.30mg/kg,1.5mg/kg) on mice and dieted with three GEB power's contents(1.5%,3%,6%) on chicken . The results showed as follow:1.The gelsemium total alkaloids of 0.15mg/kg,0.30mg/kg doses increased RBQHB, percentage of ANAE+ lymphocytes, phagocyty of peritoneal macrophage of mice. The effect of gelsemium total alkaloids of 1.5mg/kg was reducing RBQHB, percentage of ANAE+ lymphocytes phagocyty of peritoneal macrophage and immune organ indexes of mice.2.Feeding GEB's power of 1.5%, 3% increased the gain weight and also improved RBC,HB,TP,ALB, immune organ indexes, percentage of ANAE+ lymphocytes, percentage of rosette and liter of NDV's antibody, but there was no significant difference in the activity of serum enzyme between control group and test groups .Consuming 6% gelsemium diets, the broilers grew slower and showed toxication,RBC,HB,TP,ALB,immune organ indexes percentage of ANAE+ lymphocytes. Percentage of rosette and NDV's antibody titer were reduced. The activity of LDHL,AKP,GPT were increased, but the activity of CHE decreased. In all,the results showed that the effect of GEB on blood and immune function of mice and broilers was different in doses. Gelsemium total alkaloids improved some blood and immune function of mice when it less than 0.30mg/kg body weight, but more than 1.5mg/kg body weight, the gelsemium total alkaloids can reduced some blood and immune function of mice; below the dose of 3%, GEB's power can improve some blood and immune function of broilers, but GEB's power can reduce some blood and immune function of broilers above the dose of 6%. We suggest these studies offer experemental and theoretic basic for developing GEB.
