| The rabbits which had taken portulaca Oleracea(PO) extract for 40 days were studied on the changes of the immune function, specimens of thymus, spleen, eccum, Sacculus Rotundus were immediately fixed in 10% fomaldehyde-saline after necropsy ,then tissue sections were studied for the changes of tectology by using histochemistry and immunohistochemistry methods. The results showed that:(1)no influence on thymus weight but the weight of spleen was increased; When the immunology function of rabbits were inhibited by Colchicine, the weight of spleen was increased significantly.(2)11 was found that the area of jpJenic mudule and germinal central was larger in the PO spleen than in the control.(3)The quantitative analysis to IEL and GC shows that PO can increase the number of IEL in eccum and Sacculus Rotundus. On the contrary, no influence of the number of GC in Sacculus Rotundus was found. When the immunology function of rabbits was inhibited by Colchicine, the IEL number of Sacculus Rotundus was increased significantly.(4)the immunohistochemistry positive reactive cells and procucts of NK,MO at the spleen changed dramatically.These experiments indicate that PO is able to activate rabbit immune organs and speedy growth of rabbit immune organs, It is very hopeful that PO acts as immune-enhanced drug should be used in the clinic.
