This paper inquired into the effect of islets-activating protein(IAP) doses on the growth and carcass-composition of male white mouse on the basis of previous study in our laboratory. It was composed of the following experiments.EXP1:Effect of IAP at the dose of 0,0.4,0.8ug per mouse on the growth and carcass-composition of male white mouse. IAP was injected into three groups of male white mouse whose body weights ranged from 24 to30g (n=20per group) at the dose of 0ug , 0.4ug and 0.8ug per mouse respectively by the way of abdominal cavity injection. Compared with the controlled group( 0ug/mouse) the body weight gains,the carcass weights and the carcass lean meat weights of the experimental groups within three weeks increased by 59%(p<0.01), 28%(p<0.05) and 11.7%(p<0.01), 5.7%(p<0.05) and 11.8%(p<0.01), 6.4%(p<0.05) respectively. The above data showed IAP dose of 0.4ug per mouse was prior to 0.8ug per mouse.EXP2: Effect of IAP at the dose of 0,0.05,0.1,0.2,0.4ug per mouse on the growth and carcass-composition of male white mouse (the begining body weights ranged from 20 to 22g). IAP was injected into five groups of male white mouse at the dose of 0ug , 0.05ug ,0.1ug ,0.2ug and 0.4ug per mouse respectively by the way of abdominal cavity injection. Compared with the controlled group(0ug/mouse), the body weight gains, the carcass weights and the carcass lean meat weights of the third group(0.1ug/mouse)and the fourth group(0.2ug/mouse) within four weeks increased by 28%(p<0.05),30%(p<0.01) and 8.7%(p<0.05), 9.7%(p<0.05) and 22%(p<0.05),12.6%(p<0.05); the blood glucose concentration of the treated groups (2,3,4,5group) decreased by 3.6%,8.9%,9.2%,12.7%(p<0.05) respectively. EXP2 showed IAP dose of 0.1-0.2ug per mouse could promte growth well.EXP3: Effect of IAP at the dose of 0,0.05,0.1,0.2,0.4ug per mouse on the growth and carcass-composition of male white mouse In this experiment ,the treated doses of IAP was same as the previous experiment(EXP2).Theresults showed within four weeks,compared with the controlled group , the body weight gains, the carcass weights , the carcass lean meat weights and the carcass bone weights of the third group(0.1ug/0.4ml), the fourth group(0.2ug/0.4ml)and the fifth group(0.4ug/0.4ml) increased by 41%(P<0.01),36%(P<0.05),31%(P<0.05) and 20%(P<0.01),12.7%(P<0.05),12%(P>0.05) and 27.49%(P<0.01), 24.35%(P<0.05), 18.09%(P<0.05) and 23.5%(P<0.05), 20.4%(P<0.05), 15.3%(P<0.05) respectively.The above experiment results showed IAP had some characteristics as follows:(1) The proper dose of IAP by the way of abdominal cavity injection on the growth of male white mouse was 0.1~0.4ugIAP per mouse . (2) IAP could increase the carcass weight and the carcass lean meat weight .
