In this paper , 100-day-old cocks(n=30) were allocated into three groups ,the cocks in group I were only fed with the basic diet, the group II were fed with the basic diet, supplemented with 150mg/kg CdCfe, group III were fed with the basic diet, supplemented with 150mg/kg CdCh and contained lOmg/kg of selenium .After 60 days.cocks of group II and III showed clinical signs of cadmium toxication.Reproductive toxicology model caused by subchronic cadmium toxication and antagonism of selenium to the subchronic cadmium toxication was deeply studied through clinical findings,pathohistological changes and apoptosis. The results and conclusions were showed as follows:l.The LD5o(50% lethaldose) testal from the male chicken against CdCli was218.44mg/kg and the animal models of pathology damage caused by subchronic cadmium toxication and antagonism of selenium were successfully duplicated in cocks fed with CdClj and selenium,which has provided a theory proof for further studying cadmium toxication.2.The result of this experiment revealed cadmium affecting the function of antioxidant defense system in vivo.Activities of GSH-Px, SOD and NOS and the conment of NO decreased in serum and testes. While the content of MDA increased,which constituated the pathological basis of cadmium damaging the host body.Supplementing selenium may decrease cadmium damage.3.Cadmium decreased the content of freeT3,freeT4 in serum and increased the TSH, which can influence the function of thyroid .Cadmium also decreased the content of testosteone hi serum,which showed that cadmium influenced the secretion of testosteone, Supplementing selenium may improve the abnormal secretion of testosteone and dysfunction of Thyroid caused by cadmium toxication.4.By TUNEL and ultrastructural observation,the results showed that cadmium toxication caused apoptosis in testes,and adding selenium may decrease the effect.5.Cadmium can affect the activites of several enzymes in biomembrane, Such as SDH,ALP,Mg2+-ATPase,G-6-P,Ca2+-ATPase and lead to metabolical disorder in tissues. While selenium can relieve the effect damaged by cadmium to the host.6.The experiment suggested that cadmium caused the damage of mitochondrion,endoplasmic reticulim and nuclei etc,by the observation of microstructure and ultrastructure of testis.Selenium decreased the toxicity of cadmium.The difference between selenium antagonism group and the cadmium toxication has provided evaluation for histology.
