In order to explore the feasibility of low seeding density cultivation on spring wheat in Hei Long Jiang province and the influences on characters of cultivars under low seeding density cultibation, eleven spring wheat cultivars (lines) grown in great area in Hei Long Jiang province were selected for the experiment. We designed three experimental treatments: Al conventional treatment, had 6 million basic seedlings per hectare; A2, A3 low seeding density treatment ,each had 4.5 and 3.0 million basic seedlings per hectare, then compacted in seeding stage and applied fertilization for three leaves stage, fertilization for head sprouting . Processing of tilling, characters of flag leaf and filling, yield and yield components were studied by field experiment .The result were summarized as follows:Under low seeding density cultivation , the rate of tillering, quality, earing percentage and weight of dry matter of tillers were improved,and the colony's elimiting rate of tillers was in a lower level, In addition, the length, kernel number,grain weight per spike and the total number of spikelet per spike were raised in low seeding density treatment , so increased the ratio of tillering yield in the whole yield . But there are some differences between cultivars.The cultivation of low seeding density prolonged the functional period of flag leaf effectible (0.7-2.4 d), improved characters of flag leaf, and also made significant increase on the length, width and area of flag leaf ,but different cultivars had differ in superiority characters, compared with other experimental cultivars , treatments of low seeding density cultivation made greatest effects on DongNongl24' characters of flag leaf, the secondly was KeFeng 6.The fast-filling period prolonged 2-3 days under low seeding density cultivation, the mean rate of grain filling and max. V of grain can also be increased significantly, all showed that A3>A2>Al.In all of the experimental cultivars , LongMai26 and LongMai29 obtained the greatest influences on mean rate of grain filling , increased 0.18/grain/day, the increase ratio were 14.7% and 14.0%. As the result, the thousand grain weight increased 9.2% and 12.6%. DongNong 122. DongNong 123, LongFu10 had the greatest changes on max. V of grain, the volume increased 1.24mK 1.33mK 1.07ml per hundred grain for each.The yield of LongMai 15 between treatments had significant difference, A3 low seeding density treatment obtained significantly higher yield than Al, so it was a kind of cultivar favorable for low seeding density cultivation. There were no significant differences betweenyield of treatments for the other experimental cultivars, KeFeng 6 under A3 treatment obtained highest yield , so it also a kind of cultivar favorable for low seeding density cultivation, LongMai 20 , DongNong 97-4056 and DongNong 123 under A2 treatment obtained highest yield , they were the cultivars fit for low seeding density cultivation, the other cultivars were capable of low seeding density cultivation . The result showed that there had feasibility for low seeding density in HeiLongJing province.With the managing of low seeding density , all yield components ,ecsept harvesting number of spike , have been improved, increased the harvesting quantity of plant, kernel number per plant, grain weight per spike and thousand kernel weight. There had the same law for all of the yield components, that was A3>A2>Al.In contrasted, there were greater influence on kernel number and grain weight per spike, and least effects on thousand kernel weight. The kernel number and grain weight per spike between A3 and Al treatments received 0.01 level significance , A3 treatment gained 8.57 kernels excessive than Al treatment for all experimental cultivars, there were five cultivars obtained more 10 kernels than AL treatment, they were LongFu 10 (13.03 kernels), LongMai 20 (12.93 kernels), LongMai 29 (10.54 kernels ),LongMai26( 10.17 kernels), DongNong 122( 10.03 kernels); the difference for grain weight per spike among A1, A2, A3 treatments all r...
