Taking winter wheat Yumai-34 and Wen-6, multi-spike cultivars as control, super wheat of large-spike cultivars Yuami-66, Yumai-66 excellent cultivars, Lakao-8 are studied on dynamics of population, plant type and leaf area, on the characteristics of distribution in canopy and utilization of light, and on temperature, relative humidity in canopy. The results show large-spike cultivars of super wheat have more reasonable plant type, longer spike, smaller angle index and bigger leaf angle, smaller ratio of length and width, larger leaf area than multi-spike cultivars. Higher transmission percentage of light, more PARPS, lower light extinction coefficient, better radiation condition in lower part in canopy and shower senescence of leaves, higher yield and light use efficiency are obtained by large-spike cultivars. Large-spike cultivars of super wheat have higher temperature difference among day and night and higher active surface temperature than multi-spike cultivars wheat. Large-spike cultivars of super wheat are higher active relative humidity during jointing stage and mid grain-filling stage and lower active relative humidity during booting stage. The result can offer qualitative and quantitative index for improving further wheat canopy structure and exploring the potential yield of cultivars, promoting solar utilization efficiency in theory and practice significantly.
