The Ornamental value of 304 Perennial flowers introduced by Shai hai Botanical Garden are evaluated and heat and cold resistance of six species are studied in this paper .This studies make satisfied results.Accroding to the characteristics of the Perennial flowers, 14 appraisal indexes are selcted and a multifactoririal appraisal system based on the Analytic Hierarchy Process is developed for the aim of getting the ornamental value of the Perennial flowers, and 14 appraisal indexes of the Perennial flowers are analyzed through Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). Accroding to the multifactoririal appraisal system , 304 Perennial flowers introduced by Shai hai Botanical Garden are judged by this way and makes satisfied results , which are an important and scientific foundations for the garens green in Shang hai areas. The correlation analyses among the data of electric conductivity,SOD and POD activity, soluble protein and chlorophyll content show that the former three methods could reflect the heat and cold resistance of six perennial flowers. The electrolyte leakage rate of the blade cell have a markable negative correlation with the heat and could resistance, Whereas, after high temperrature treatment , chlorophyll content have some changes ,but could not expressed relationship with head formation, and could not be used as a physiological trait for heat tolerance. SOD and POD relative activity and soluble protein content have different change rules under different heat and cold stress, and so it could be as index for heat and cold tolerance. The result shows that there are obvious differences of resistance among six prennial flowers: in heat tolerance, Dianthus chinensis > Allium spp > Hemerocallis spp, Helleborus niger > Farfugium japonicum > Allium hooker i; in cold tolerance, Dianthus chinensis > Helleborus niger > Farfugium japonicum > Allium hookeri > Hemerocallis spp > Allium spp.
