Study On Landscape Trees Introduction And Application In Baotou

The application value of 26 garden tree species which belonging to 17 genera,10 families were evaluated synthetically in Baotou using tree introduction theory and methods of Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP) based on the introduction research of garden trees.The results shows:1.The adaptability of each species plays most important role in application evaluation in Baotou.So adaptability value is 0.4934 which is the highest in synthetical evaluation while ornamental value is 0.3108 and the growing feature is only 0.1958.2.Indexes of resistance to drought,cold,diseases and insects were selected to describe adaptability.To evaluate drought resistance,trees water potentials and the morphological characteristics of each plant was explored.The most drought resistant species are Spiraea thunbergii Sieb.ex Blune,Spiraea×bumalda cv.Gold Flame,Malus cv.Jewelberry.To evaluate cold resistance,the freezing damaged trees were classed into 5 grades,and the cold resistant index of each species was determined.The most cold resistant species are Prunus virginiana cv.Red Select Shrub,Acer negundo Var.variegatum Jacq,Lumps pumila cv.Jinye.To evaluate disease and insect resistance,how many species of disease and insects happened were determined by observing data and references of many years.Spiraea thunbergii Sieb.ex Blune,Prunus virginiana cv.Red Select Shrub,Ligustrum obtusifolium Sieb.et Zucc.are the most disease and insect resistance species.3.Ornamental value and growing features were obtained by observing biologic characters such as the shape of crown,Height,The shape of leaf,Leaf color,Flower color,Florescence,The number of flowers,Growth rate,Crown,Budding power,Sparse performance of each species.Prunus virginiana cv.Red Select Shrub,Malus cv.Jewelberry,Prunus×cistena 'Pissardii' are the best among the 26 species.4.After analyzing by AHPthe best and better tree species for application in Baotou are Spiraea thunbergii Sieb.ex Blune,Prunus virginiana cv.Red Select Shrub,Acer negundo cv.Kellys gold,Acer negundo cv.Aureo-marginatum,Acer negundo Var.variegatum Jacq, Ulmus densa Litvin,Potentilla fruticosa(L.) Rydb,Rosa rugosa cv.Duoji,Potentilla glabra Lodd,Prunus×cistena'Pissardii',Caryopteris×clandonensis' Worcester Gold',Lumps pumila cv.Jinye,Koelreuteria paniculata Lax,Sambucus canadensis cv.Aurea,Acer ginnala Maxim., Ligustrum obtusifolium Sieb.et Zucc.,Ligustrum obtusifolium Sieb.et Zucc and Spiraea×bumalda cv.Gold Flame,which can be extended in Baotou.The ordinary species for application are Malus cv.Jewelberry,Sophora japonica cv.Golden Stem,Philadelphus coronarius cv.Aureus,Malus micromalus Makino,Weigela×cv.Red Prince and Physocarpus opulifolius cv.Darts Gold,which can be extended in the area where microclimate is good and managed well in Baotou.We don't suggest tree species like Hydrangea bretsckneideri Dippe and Cotoneaster korizontalis Dcne extend in Baotou because of its poor adaptability.
