In this study , Lactic acid bacteria were isolated from 37 samples of fresh milk and milk products which collected from 24 herdsmen's homes in the Kelun River Region , Xin-Baer-Hu Right County of Inner Mongolia . Their biological properties were studied. 42 strains lactic acid bacteria were isolated. 26 of them are bacilli and 16 are cocci. According to their characteristics of morphologicaK physiological and biochemical ,sugar fermentation ,and employing method of chemical classification based on the optical rotation of lactic acid ,and amino acid composition of cell wall of bacteria .They were ascribed to 4 genus of Lactobacillus, Streptococcus,Lactococcus and Enteroccus, containing with 12 species. Among 42 strains 8 of them are L . delbrueckii subsp. Bulgaricus. 6 are L . animalis, 5 are L.helveticus, 5 are L. farciminis , 2 are L. plantarum, 4 are Streptococcus thermopiles, 4 are Lac. Lactis Subsp. cremoris, and 1 strains is for each of the Lac . raffinolactis , E . Cecorum, E . gallinarum, E . faecium and E . avium respectively. There are 3 strains not determined both in genus and species in this study. The research revealed that the bacteria species of these milk and milk products from the area were dominated by the bacteria colonies of L . delbrueckii subsp. bulgaricus, L . animalis, L. helveticus, and Streptococcus thermopiles, and some of these bacteria are able to be surviving in a environment at temperatures of 40 癈, 45 癈,50癈 and 60癈 . They, therefore, belong to thermophylic bacteria .
