Eight growing crossbred male Boer goats F1 (Bore ×saanen) weaned at the age of 3 month with mean body weight of 17.33 ± 1.44kg were used to study ad Iibitum intake and nutritional value of Chinese wi Idrye hay. A 4 ×4 Latin square experiment design was conducted to study the energy and protein requirements of stall-feeding crossbred Boer goats fed the four different Chinese wi Idrye hay-corn grain-soyben meal rations for expected average daily gain at 0,75,125 and 200g/d based on recommendation of nutrients requirements of AFRC(1998).The results indicated that the mean daily ad libitum dry matter intake(DMI) and organic matter intake(OMI) of Chinese wiIdrye hay were 63.18±7.19g/kgW0.75 and 60.22±6.85g/kgW0.75; The mean digestibility of dry matter, organic matter, neutral detergent fiber (NDF)and acid detergent fiber(ADF) in whole digestive tract for Chinese wildrye hay were 51.81 ±8.04%, 53.00±8.09%, 47.04 ± 10.18% and 48.83±9.24% respectively, in ad libitum intake, the digestible energy and the digestible crude protein of Chinese wi Idrye hay were 10.39MJ/kg and 3.86% respectively. As for the Chinese wildrye hay-corn grain-soybean meal type ration, the relationship between DMI and average dai ly gain ( A W,g/d) and metabolic weight(W0.75,kg) is DMI (g/d) =26.45W0.75+0.99W (g/d) +312.24 (r=0.6681, p=0.0008). Based on the concentration of gross energy(GE) and NDF of the diet to predict DMI of meat goats, the prediction equation is DMI (g/d) =7741.75-6.27GE (kJ/kg) -6.76NDF (%) (r=0.8908,p=Q.0001).The prediction equations of nutritional requirements about digestible energy (DE), metabolizable energy (ME), digestible crude protein (DCP), and protein deposited (PD) for stall-feeding growing crossbred Boer goats were:DE, kJ/d=588.31W0.75+9.25W+879.9 r=0.5712, p=0.013ME, kJ/d=482.42W0.75+7.57AW+721.57 r=0.5713, p=0.013DCP, g/d= (0.03AW+1.27) W0.75 r=0.9869, p=0.0131 PD, g/d= (0.03W+0.03) W0.75 r=0.9993, p=0.0007 When the average daily gain stage is from 0 to 200g/d,for the stall-feeding growing crossbred Boer goats, aged at 3~6 months, Metabolic rate of gross energy of the diets is 0.55; digestibi I ity of crude protein is 0.56; The protein requirement of per live weight gain for meat goats is 0.31 g PD/g gain (PD, protein deposited) .The results are expected to be reference for drafting the energy and protein requirements of meat goats as national agricultural recommendatory standard.
