By means of quadratic general rotational design the effect of N, P and K balanced fertilization on the yield of cucumber was studied. Also the reaction model between the cucumber yield and the N, P and K was established. With the aid of computer, the model demonstration the relationship between yield factor (Y) and three element factors N, P and K were established. The model is as follows:Y= 110936.1+ 1880.0X,+4295.2X2+1232.4X3-1606.1Xi2-1044.4X22-1944.6X32-3492.0X2X3Analysis result showed:1. The effect of three factors N, P and K on the yield of cucumber decrease by degrees in series of P, N and K. It's different from the former research result. Because P content in this field is lower than general condition, P become the main factor which effect cucumber yield.2. After analysis the model, the interactions between N and P, N and K were studied, which are significant positive interaction in lower level and significant negative interaction in higher level.3. By simulation with computer, to achieve the highest yield 118176.5kg/hm2, the optimal combination of N, P2O5 and K2O was 225.0, 160.5 and 108.0(kg/hm2) respectively. In the verification experiment, there are three treatments the optimal combination, the worst combination and the general fertilization level. By testing content of chlorophyll, the vigor of the root, rate of photosynthesis, the growth rate of cucumber, VC, dissoluble sugar, dissoluble substance, NOs-N and the yield, we result in which the optimal combination is superior to the other treatments with integrative consideration, which proved the model was accuracy and reliability. Right ratio of fertilizer could improve yield. The amount of N, P2O5 and K2O for the highest yield 118176.5kg/hm2 were 314.9,213.1 and 321.1 (kg/hm2) respectively, with ratio of N :. P2O5 : K2O, 1 :0.68 : 1. The conclusion of this experiment showed balanced fertilization should be different under different soil condition, shouldn't fertilizer by experience or use other research result without option.
