The experiment targeted on SR92A, Xiaoshan chickens and their crossing offsprings. DNA fingerprinting and RAPD(Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA) were used in mis research. The effects of Band J (3.48Kb) on early production performance, including the 28d weight, 49d weight, 75d weight, dressing weight, semi-eviscerated weight and eviscerated weight, were analysized by DNA fingerprinting with EAV(endogenous avian retroviral element)being the probe. Two bands were found in genome DNA detection by RAPD, with OPAY02 being the primer. A, B, C, D types were defined according to the different band types. The effects of different Markers OPAY02 having on early chicken production performance were also analysized in the research. Then the results of the two methods were combined to study the compositive effects of Band J and Markers OPAY02 on production traits of chickens. The ultimate results were analysized by the method GLM. ft was manifested that:(1). Band J had significant effects on all the production traits in hybrid chickens. The production performance of the chickens without Band J was higher than those with Band J (P<0.05). Band J in Xiaoshan chickens had significant effects on 75d weight, dressing weight, semi-eviscerated weight and eviscerated weight (P<0.05) .(2). Thinking of the effect of the sex, Band J had significant effects on all the production traits in hybrid mate chickens and on some production traits in Xiaoshan female chickens, including 75d weight, dressing weight, semi-eviscerated weight and eviscerated weight(3). According to the Markers OPAY02, the early production performances of the hybrid chickens with C type were higher than those with A type. While in Xiaoshan chickens, thetendency was to the opposite. But differences were not significant(4). Of the two strains, there were no interaction between Band J and Markers OPAY02 statistically.Through this research, together with so many advantages of DNA fingerprinting, Band J can be used in early and indirect selection, to decrease the cost of raising, speed selection progress and benefit stockbreeding.
