This paper concerns the materials from five populations of P. ussuriensis hum. (forty one clones) and four populations of P. koreana Rehd, (twenty nine clones). Genetic diversity of the populations for these two species, by using PCR-SSCP (single stranded conformation polymorphism) technique, is studied with five primers that are developed on the basis of cDNA sequence known from NCBI gene bank. The results are as follows:1. Genetic diversity of population for P. ussuriensis Kom.(1) Five polymorphic locus are detected for population for P.ussuriensis Kom. The percentage ofpolymorphic loci is 100%. The range of variation among five populations is between 80% and100%.(2)Genetic variation for the population of this species is studied with Shannon information indexand Nei's gene diversity index. The result shows that there is the biggest variation within Linjiangpopulation, and the smallest for Qingyuan population among five populations.(3)Genetic differentiation among populations of P.ussuriensis Kom. is lower, that GST is 10.72%.It means that genetic differentiation within the populations is 89.28%.(4)Five populations are divided into three groups by cluster analysis according to the geneticdistance among the population. The first group includes Maoershan and Dongfanghongpopulations. The second group is Lushuihe and Linjiang populations, and the third one isQingyuan population.(5)There is no clear correlation between genetic distance and geographic distance among thepopulations.2. Genetic diversity of population for P.koreana Rehd.i)It examines out five polymorphic locus from four populations of P.koreana Rehd.(twenty-nine clones'). The percentage of polymorphic is 100%.(2)Using Shannon information index and Nei's gene diversity index, Genetic difference among the populations is analyzed. It indicates that genetic variation for Shanhetun population is the biggest, and Tangwanghe population is the smallest among four populations.(3)Genetic differentiation among and within populations of P.koreana Rehd. is 9.44% and 90.56%, respectively.(4)Four populations of this species are divided into two groups by cluster analysis on the basis of genetic distance among the populations. The first group includes Tangwanghe and Shanhetunpopulation, and the second one is Tahe and Huzhong population.(5) The correlation among the population between the genetic distance and geographic distance isnot found in this study.3. Genetic relationship between P.ussuriensis Kom. and P.koreana Rehd.Genetic identity between P.ussuriensis Kom. and P.koreana Rehd. is 0.9071, the genetic distance is 0.0975. This result shows it truly exists close phylogenetic relationship between P.ussuriensis Kom. and P.koreana Rehd..
