The experiment was carried out in the dry steppe of Balinzuo Banner, Inner Mongolia. The changeful regulation of vegetation and soil during the course of ecological recovery on the sandification (desertification) steppe was comprehended through the investigation and contrastive analysis of vegetation and soil on between outside continual grazing rangeland and inside enclosure rangeland. The rangeland ecosystem recovery area was located at the desertification rangeland of dry steppe of the southeast part of DaXingAn mountain range (Chaganhada township), and the effective approaches towards the ecologic recovery of desert steppe was also achieved. The measurements of recovery project about the sandification rangeland ecosystem resulted in the rapid recovery of plant diversity, plant community structure and biomass, moreover, the improvement of range soil and the succession towards the positive situation were also fulfilled. Main results were as follows:1.The plant diversity, the community structure and the function were improved significantly:①The plant diversity: species were increased from 114 to 151;②The community structure: The grass absolute height was advanced from 12.5cm to 147.0cm; The average height was improved from 4.1cm to 33.5cm;The average coverage was enhanced from 32% to 68%;③ The perennial/annual plant ratio in 1m2 quadrat was up from 4/4 to 4/12;④Simpson's Diversity Index was up from 0.702 to 0.841;⑤The grass yield was up from 30.67Kg/area to 333.34Kg/area;The yield of superior pasture feeding degree was significantly improved from 3.4g/m2 to 233.2g/m2; ⑥ The total root weight was up from 20.02g to 73.48g,the wet weight was 3.67times more than that out of the enclosure..2.The soil nutrients were improved significantly:①The average content of organic matter were up from 12.6664g/Kg to 17.4119g/Kg,increased 37%;②The content of soil nutrient: Total N: the average total nitrogen inside enclosure was 0.241 percent, which was 32.4percent more than that outside enclosure. Available N: the average available N was 115.50g/Kg and 111.64g/Kg inside and outside enclosure respectively, the difference between them was not significant. Total P: the average total P inside enclosure was 264.22g/Kg, which was 35.0 percent more than that outside enclosure. Available P: the average available P inside enclosure was 43.97g/Kg 30.12 percent more than 33.79g/Kg outside enclosure, the difference between them was notable. Total K: the average total K inside enclosure was 2.82 percent, but it was 2.85 percent outside enclosure, the significant difference was not exist. Available K: the available K inside enclosure was 33.16 percent more than that outside enclosure, the difference was significant.③The variation of soil pH: the variation of soil pH between inside and outside enclosure was not notable, both were week alkali.
