The thesis represents the studies on Ceracris kiangsu Walker and Cerasris nigricornis laeta(I.Bol.) from mountain Jinyun in Chongqing, including the studies on biological characters, theantenna, maxillary and labial palpi sensilla ultrastructure by Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM),and the spermiogensis and spermatozoa ultrastructure by Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM).Through these studies, not only the occurant patterns of Ceracris kiangsu Walker and Cerasris nigricornis laeta (I.Bol.) have been mastered to take guide for the best control of them, but also the founction of the antenna, maxillary and labial palpi sensilla can be inquired into by the ultrastructure study on them; The classified status baseded the spermatology can be more clear too .The antenna, maxillary and labial palpi samples were observed by the type of SEM K.YKY-AMRAY 1000B with the preparations by the common methods; the sperm samples were observed by the type of PHILIPS TECNAI 10, which were prepared by the common methods. The materials investigated were collected from Mountain Jinyun in Chongqing. The following are the results and conclusions:1. The main biological characters of Ceracris kiangsu WalkerThe eggs are brown two or three days before prehatching. The black-brown antenna and compound eyes , three pairs of brown feet in the embry can be observed clearly out of the eggs. The brown square maculations on the pronotum and metanotum can be seen too.The 1st instar has the coloure of bombycinous. One day later hatched, it grows into yellow green alternated with brown . At the back from crown to the end of abdominal, their center regions are bombycinous. Its posterior border of the pronutum is just like a line. The 2nd instar has the colour deeper than the 1st instar's, and the center part of thorax and abdomen tergums is yellow . It has a pair of black square maculations medianly zygomorphic symmetrical arranged on the pronotum andmetanotum. However, from the 3rd instar, the nymph's back center regions from crown to the end of abdominal are yellow. Two sides of the center regions are black longitudinal veins, following is yellow. The wings and viens can be seen clearly. The anterior and posterior wing buds of th 3rd instar extend to the posterior. Its anterior wing buds are long and narrow slice, while the posterior ones are triangle. From 4th instar, the nymph's anterior and posterior wing buds turn over to the doral plate, and the posterior wing buds cover the anteriors'. The 4th instar 's posterior wing buds extend to the end of back region of the 1st abdomen segment, while the 5th instar's extend to the end of the back region of the 3rd abdomen segment.Ceracris kiangsu Walker from Mountain Jinyun in Chongqing occure one generation a year, hibernating by eggs in soil. The hibernated eggs begin to hatch from the last ten-day period of April, the full period of hatching is at the last ten-day period of May. The full periods of the 1st to 5th nymphal instars are separately at the last ten-day period of May, the first ten-day of June, the middle ten days of June, the last ten-day period of June and the first ten-day period of July. The adults emergent at the beginning of July, fully at the last ten-period of July. The audits begin to mate at the last ten-day period of July and lay eggs at the last ten-day period of August. From the first ten-day period of September, the adults come to death till to the last ten-day period of Octomber. Some even last to the middle ten days of November. The stadium of the 1st instar is 11 to 17 days, average 14 days; the 2nd instar's is 9 to 13 days, average lldays; the 3rd instar's is 11 to 15 days, average 13 days; the 4th instar's is 9 to 14 days, average 12 days; and the 5th instar's is 7 to 13 days, average 11 days. The nymphal stadium is 47 to 82 days, the adult's is 65 to 120 days and the egg's is 210 to 240 days. The female adults live longer than the males. The male adults die 7 seven days after the over of mating. The nymphs and adults not only hav...
