Analysis Of Status And Research Of Strategy On Genetic Resource Conservation Of Domestic Animal In Hubei Province

According to the principles of population genetics and conservation biology, the changes of genetic resource of domestic animal in the passed decades were analyzed in this paper, genetic resource of domestic animal in hubei province was analyzed with the indexes of the threatened situation and effective population size. The result showed that in the breeds of swine, the descended extent were the largest in the number of the Qingping swine and the Yangxin swine, the descended extent in the number of the Jianli swine was the larger than the other breeds of swine, the number of the Tongcheng swine was stable, the number of the Esi mountainous male swine increased, but the number of the Esi mountainous female swine descended , the breed conservation of the Qingping swine and the Jianli swine were seriously endangered, the breed conservation of the Yangxin swine was endangered, the breed conservation of the Tongcheng swine and the Esi mountainous swine were minimally endangered; In the breeds of cattle the number of the Jianhai buffalo, the Esi mountainous buffalo and the Caoyang yellow cattle descended to varying degrees, but the effective population size of all the local breeds of cattle were in a high level, it showed that all the local breeds of cattle in hubei province were safe; In the breeds of goat the number of the Matou goat increased, but the number of the Yichang white goat descended, but the effective population size of all the local breeds of goat were in a high level, it showed that all the local breeds of goat in hubei province were safe up till present moment; The number of the Licuan horse is tending to descend, the inbreeding phenomenon is heavy, the effective population size of all the Licuan horse is descending every year, the Licuan horse is potentially endangered, it is close to minimally endanger. In this article the present severe situation and the main reasons in genetic resource of domestic animal, and the six conservation measures for the breeds were proposed, furthermore, the suggestions of genetic resource of the domestic animal' s conservation were pointed out.
