The physiological index of Kentucky bluegrass'seeds and seedlings ( Broadway, Midnight, Nuglade) was studied in salt stress with soil amendment. The results of this research were listed as following:The effect of soil amendment on turf seed germination and seedling growrth was striking. The degree of salt stress could be declined greatly if amendment was applied. Broadway was the weakest in salt resistance. Nuglade was the strongest in salt resistance. 2 kilograms per square meters of amendment was good for declining salt stress. The significant negative correlation was found between the germinating rate and salt concentration(Broadway : r=-0.873,P<0.01; Midnight:r=-0.961, P<0.01; Nuglade:r=-0.912,P<0.01). The germinating rates could be raised if amendment was applied in salt stress. The effect of amendment was diminutive under 0.1 percent of salt. When the salt concentration was 0.3% and 0.5%, the effect of amendment was better. The significant negative correlation was found between the germinating capacity and salt concentration(Broadway : r=-0.808,P<0.05; Midnight:r =-0.824, P<0.01; Nuglade:r=-0.905,P<0.01). Amendment could also raise germinating capacity in salt stress. Germinating capacity could be heightened in three salt concentrations. Compared with other two grasses, the effect of amendment on Broadway was striking. The significant positive correlation was found between the germinating harm rate and salt concentration(Broadway : r=0.874, P<0.01 ; Midnight:r =0.968 , P<0.01 ; Nuglade:r=0.935, P<0.01). Amendment could decline turf seeds' germinating harm rates in salt stress. When the salt concentration was 0.1%, the effect of amendment on Broadway seeds was striking. For Midnight and Nuglade, the effect of amendment was good when the salt concentration was 0.3% or 0.5%.The significant negative correlation was found between the vigorindex and salt concentration(Broadway : r=-0.855,P<0.01; Midnight:r =-0.866, P<0.01; Nuglade.T=-0.968,P<0.01).The vigor index could be raised if amendment was applied under salt stress. The effect of salt stress on turf grasses could be informed strikingly through vigor index. When the salt concentration wasn't very high( 0.1%, 0.3%), the effect of amendment(lkg/m2, 2kg/m2) was good. Under high salt concentration( 0.5% ), the effect of amendment wasn't good. When the amendment concentration was 3 kg /m2, the other stress could be made, then the vigor index would decline. The significant negative correlation was found between the height of shoots and salt concentration(Broadway : r =-0.621, P<0.01; Midnight:r =-0.698, P<0.01; Nuglade:r =-0.611, P<0.01). The significant negative correlation was found between the length of roots and salt concentration(Broadway : r =-0.670, P<0.01; Midnight:r =-0.609, P<0.05; Nuglade:r=-0.746, P<0.01). The significant negative correlation was found between the fresh weight and salt concentration(Broadway : r =-0.683, P<0.01; Midnight:r=-0.677,P<0.01;Nuglade:r=-0.940, P><0.01). The height of shoots, the amount of lateral roots and the fresh weight could be raised if amendment is applied under salt stress. On the other way, the length of seed's roots could be declined. The effect of amendment on the amount of preserving enzyme and proline in turf seedlings was great in salt stress. The preserving enzyme and proline level of Broadway was highest in three turf grasses. The amendment could decline the amount of preserving enzyme and poline. The effect of amenment was best when the salt concentration was 0.3%. When the salt concentration was 0.1%, the effect wasn't very good. When the salt concentration was 0.5%, the effect of amendment(l kg /m2, 2 kg /m2) was good. But when the amendment was 3 kg/m2, some indexes were raised greatly.
