Through systematic summarization of the achieved research result and current status related to crop growth and development model. Preliminary analysis and research was made to describe rationale, technique and method, practical application etc., especially for greenhouse crop model. On the basis of the relative research on the growth and development of tomato, and experiment in the greenhouse and analysis indoors from January to October in 2003, In the end, I set up the simulation model on growth and development and yield of tomato. It includes five models: growth stage model, shape development model, dry matter accumulation model, nutrient absorption model and yield model and so on.Utilization the method of effective gather temperature to predict the process of growth and development. Shape development model includes the simulation about plant height and index of leaf areas, which definite the various regular of plant height and index of leaf areas, and simulate it by Logistic equation to set up regress equations, their variable respectively are effective gather temperature and relative growth stages. The study on dry matter accumulation and distribution definite the coefficient of dry matter distribution to each organ and the time of the fastest velocity emerging, and simulate it by Logistic equation and respectively set up dry matter accumulation model of plant and fruits. The plant absorbing nutrient is also the slow-fast-slow process, and which can simulate by Logistic equation to set up regress equation. For yield model, I utilize the method of poly progressively regress to set up the regress equation on the relation between the yield per plant and the weight of dry matter and the amount of nutrient. The validity of models indictate that the models can evaluate the growth stages, index of leaf areas, dry matter accumulation, nutrient absorption and yield. But because of the limitation experimental condition and time, there are still lots of work need to be done, such as experiment further validation, optimization of some parameters.
