Basing on the measurement of ingestion, faecal production, excretions, metabolism, and growth rate of young Spinibarbus dneticulatus in aquaria and on the comparison of absorption efficiency, food conversion efficiency and the biochemical composition of fish body under different temperature, energy budget formulas in relation to temperature were established.Between 24 C to 32 C, the ingestion, faecal production, excretions, metabolism, and growth rate of young S. dneticulatus increased with the increasing of temperature and decreased with the increasing of culture period. The weight special growth rate under 28 "C and 32 C was higher than the one under 24 C. Under the same temperature, the weight special growth rate changed little with the increasing of culture period. The content of protein of young 5. dneticulatus under 32 C was lower than 24 C and 28 C. And the content of fat increased with the increasing of temperature. The absorption efficiency decreased according to the increasing of temperature. Food conversion efficiency under different temperature didn't change evidently. The energy budget formulas in the course of experiment were:24 C: 100.0 C = 11.5 F + 3.7 U +32.0 R +46.6 G 28 C: 100.0 C = 14.1 F + 2.9 U + 36.0 R + 42.0 G 32 C: 100.0 C = 14.3 F + 3.0 U + 36.0 R + 40.7 GComparing with 28 C and 32 C, the proportion of faecal production energy in total energy under 24 decreased significantly and the proportion of excretion energy increased obviously. The proportion of faecal production energy and excretion energy between 28 "C and 32 C changed significantly. The proportion of metabolism energy and growth energy under different temperature didn't change evidently. In the form of percentage of assimilation energy, the energy budget formulas under different temperature were:24 C: 100.0 A = 40.7 R + 59.3 G 28 C: 100.0 A = 46.2 R + 53.8 G 32 C: 100.0A = 46.9R + 53.1GThe proportion of metabolism energy and growth energy changed indistinctively and the average energy budget formulas under three temperatures was:100.0 A = 44.6 R +55.4 GIn conclusion, young S. dneticulatus belongs to a kind of fish with low metabolism and high growth efficiency. In the condition of controllable temperature, the culture of young S. dneticulatus had better be controlled under 28 "C to 32 C.
