To make a clear understanding of the sterility of D18S and D23S, photo-thermo sensitive male sterile rice line, we studied the fertility distribution of F2 populations and analysed the the peroxidase isozyme pattern of D18S .110 and the F2 of D18S/J10.The main results we gained are showed as follow: The sterility of D18S, D23S is dominated by two pairs of recessive key genes and some minority effect genes; The peroxidase isozyme pattern of D18S had a significant difference with other conventional cultivars in that U18S had three more peroxidase iso/yme characteristic bands which appeared from early bicellular pollen stage and last to the end.The steirile plant in F2 populations was differ with the fertile one in the numbers of isozyme bands and the dosages of peroxidase isozyme. Peroxidase isozymes analysis could be a efficient and reliable way to identify the fertility of F2 plant.
