In the thesis, nocturnal insects' phototactic behaviors under different wave-length light and the effects of the main wave-length light on the enzyme in bollworm, Helicoverpa armigera examined, and the main results are as follows:1. The ratio of phototacctic insects under different wave-length light was different. And the maxmum was under black light wave-length (320nm-390nm). Next was under blue light wave-length (350nm-490nm). The third was under red light wave-length (500nm-565nm). The fourth was under green light wave-length (555nm-610nm). And the minimum one was under yellow light (625nm-670nm) wave-length. The efficiency under black light was the best of all, and was significantly (0.05) higher than the other four.2. Beneficial insects had different phototaxis to different lights. The effect of black light on the beneficial insects was significantly higher than the other lights while the green light was the most efficient one as to the ratio of beneficial insects to pests.3. Insect from different order had different phototaxis to different light. The insects in Hemiptera phototactic to black light were largest in both total and n. .io as compared to other lights. The insects in Lepidoptera were most phototactic to black light while more beneficial insects to green light. The insects in Coleoptera were most phototactic to black light while more beneficial insects to blue light. The insects in Diptera were most phototactic to red light while more beneficial insects to yellow light. The insects in Homoptera were most phototactic to black light while more beneficial insects to yellow light. The insects in Orthoptera were similar to the insects in Hemiptera.4. We tested bollworms' behavior under lights. There was no significant (0.05) difference in the behavior between male and female. There was no significant (0.05) difference among adults aged 1 -6 emergency day.5. The dark-adapted time had some effect on the phototactic behavior of bollworm. And there was significant difference between 15min and 30min dark-adapted time.6. The five illumines time (0min,15min,30min,45min,60min) was carried on female bollworm. There was no significant (0.05) effect on CAT in female bollworm among different illumine time. The activity of SOD in 45 illumine minutes was significantly (0.01) higher than other treatments, while there was no significant (0.05) difference in 15min,30min and 60min. The activity of GSTs was strongest when there was no illumines, which was significantly (0.01) stronger than other treatments while there was no significant difference among other treatments. The activity of ApE in 0minwas strongest. The activity of CarE in 15min was significantly (0.01) stronger than other treatments. The activity of AChE in Omin was significantly (0.01) stronger than other treatments, while there was no significant (0.05) difference among 15min, 45min and 60min.7. The five illumines time (0min,15min,30min,45min,60min) was also tested on male bollworm. The activity of CAT in 30min was significantly (0.01) stronger than that in 45min, while there was no significant difference among Omin, 15min and 60min. The activity of SOD in 60min was significantly (0.01) stronger than other treatments. The activity of GSTs in Omin and 30min was significantly (0.05) stronger than other treatments, and even significantly (0.01) stronger than the activity in 15min and 60min. The activity of ApE in 3Omin was significantly (0.01) stronger than that in 15min, 45min and 60min. But there was no significant (0.05) difference between Omin and 3 Omin. The activity of CarE in Omin, 15min and 45min were significantly (0.01) stronger than that in 3 Omin and 60min. But there was no significant difference among Omin, 15min and 45min. The activity of AChE in Omin was significantly (0.05) stronger than that in 15min, 45min and 60min. And the activity in 30 min was significant (0.01) stronger than that in 15min and 45min.
